Spring Training Injury Update: Cain Won't Miss Next Start

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (CBS Sports / AP) -- San Francisco Giants pitching ace Matt Cain appears to be OK after an injury scare on Sunday.

Cain said he expects to make his next spring start on schedule despite getting hit by an Alfonso Soriano line drive on the right knee during the first inning of Sunday's Cactus League game against the Chicago Cubs.

"Nothing to worry about," said Cain, who finished the inning but did not take the mound in the second because of concerns after his knee started to swell a bit.

Cain has also been tabbed by Giants manager Bruce Bochy to make his first career opening-day start for the defending World Series champions.
