Contra Costa County Man Arrested For Killing Father

CLAYTON (CBS / AP) -- Police have arrested a 22-year-old Contra Costa County man on suspicion of killing his father, who had previously filed a restraining order against his son.

The Contra Costa Times reported Matthew Wester was arrested late Friday after 61-year-old Richard Wester was found dead in the family's home in Clayton. He is being held on $1 million bail in county jail.

An autopsy performed Monday finds the father died after his ribs were fractured, causing blood to pool in his chest.

Court documents showed Richard Wester sought the restraining order after his son punched and kicked him in March 2010. The order said the son was "prone to rage."

The younger Wester, who suffers from Asperger's syndrome, was living in a group home at the time.

The restraining order expired in June 2011.
