Bay Area February Home Sales Dip As Supply Remains Tight
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS/AP) - The real estate tracking firm DataQuick reported Thursday that San Francisco Bay area home sales dipped in February compared to the previous month and the year-earlier period.
DataQuick said Wednesday that 5,404 new and resale houses and condos were sold in the nine-county region last month, down 1.8 percent from January and down 6.1 percent from February 2012.
Last month's median price was $405,000, down 2.4 percent from January, but up 24.6 percent from a year earlier.
DataQuick said sales are generally flat from January to February.
