1 Dead On Caltrain Tracks In San Jose

SAN JOSE (KCBS) - One person is dead after a nearly-empty Caltrain coach struck the pedestrian Tuesday afternoon in San Jose.

Caltrain officials said that Northbound train #263 struck the person at Virginia Street, south of Diridon Station, just after 4 p.m.

Only one person was still on the train when it struck the pedestrian, having just nearly-emptied at Diridon.

Caltrain said the train is still in place and that trains are able to single track through the area. Passengers traveling south of Diridon should expect a delay.
