Sonoma Man Arrested For Selling Registered Gun To Gang Member

SONOMA (CBS SF) -- A 51-year-old Sonoma man has been arrested for selling a gun to a known gang member, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.

Dilip Kumar Sinha was arrested Friday after an investigation by the Sonoma County Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Team that stemmed from the seizure of at least five firearms from a residence in the 23500 block of Millerick Road on April 13, according to the sheriff's office.

Detectives served a search warrant at the home of a 26-year-old gang member connected to the case, and allegedly found a loaded semi-automatic handgun attached with Velcro to the bottom of a chair in his bedroom, the sheriff's office said.

The gun was registered to Sinha, the sheriff's office said.

Investigators learned that Sinha worked with some of the suspects in the firearms case, and that he knew the alleged gang member was a convicted felon, officials said.

Sinha was arrested on Friday and charged with knowingly selling a gun to a felon and selling a gun to a gang member.

He was booked at Sonoma County Jail, where his bail was set at $10,000.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Sonoma County Sheriff's Deputy Dylan Fong at (707) 565-2650.
