Nimble Storage Expanding In North San Jose, Adding Up To 800 Jobs

SAN JOSE (KCBS)— A Silicon Valley firm is expanding into a 165,000 square-foot facility in an area with increasing job and housing growth.

Nimble Storage will hire up to 800 new workers to move into its new headquarters in north San Jose near Zanker Road and River Oaks Parkway.

The company provides data storage solutions using a hybrid of flash and traditional disk drives.

San Jose Councilman Kansen Chu said the infrastructure and convenience of the area he represents is key for people who work and live there.

"You have easy access between 237, 880, 101 and 680," he said of the benefits for commuters who drive.

Nimble Storage Moving To Growing Part Of San Jose, May Bring 800 New Jobs

San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed echoed that sentiment and said the city has a lot of good sites for any company looking to expand.

"Companies can start anywhere, but when they're growing, we have some space. We've got a lot of buildings. We have buildings leftover from the internet boom. It's good to see those buildings being re-habed and reused," Reed said.

8,000 residential units are also being added in North San Jose.
