Man Killed After Hitting Curb, Flipping Car Near SF’s Lake Merced

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – A 24-year-old man was killed in a car crash near San Francisco’s Lake Merced on Monday night, police said Tuesday.

The solo-car crash was reported at 10:01 p.m. at Lake Merced and Sunset boulevards. The man was driving when his car hit a curb and crashed, pinning him inside, police said.

He had to be pulled from the car by firefighters and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

His name is being withheld until his family has been notified of the death, according to the medical examiner’s office.
