SAUSALITO (CBS SF) — The identity of a 65-year-old Sausalito man whose body was found Monday evening in the Clipper Yacht Harbor in Sausalito is pending notification of his next of kin, Marin County coroner’s office Lt. Keith Boyd said Thursday.
Boyd said the man’s next of kin are out of the country, and his identity might be released next week.
Foul play is not suspected in the death, Boyd said.
The Southern Marin Fire Protection District responded at 6:21 p.m. to a report about a body in the water in Richardson Bay off Clipper Yacht Basin 2, Capt. Charles Casalnuovo said.
The body was about 30 feet from the dock and was recovered around 6:30 p.m. by the Fire Protection District’s Fireboat Liberty, Casalnuovo said.
The body was turned over to the Sausalito Police Department until the Marin County coroner’s office arrived.
