Muni Pass Cost Going Up For Clipper Card Users In SF

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Starting next month the cost of a San Francisco Municipal Railway pass on riders' Clipper Cards will go up.

Starting June 17, the price of an adult fast pass and an adult Muni-only pass will increase by $2 up to $76 and $66, respectively.

The senior and youth passes will be $23 per month, a $1 increase.

The new costs will go into effect for riders purchasing passes for the month of July.

Muni spokesman Paul Rose said the rate increase was scheduled in 2011 as part of the city Municipal Transportation Agency's two-year budget.

The increased cost for the Muni passes is based on inflation rates, Rose said.
