CASTRO VALLEY (CBS SF) — The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office was investigating a shooting involving an officer on westbound Interstate Highway 580 near Castro Valley that occurred late Thursday night, deputies said.

An officer shot the driver of a vehicle near the Castro Valley Boulevard onramp, according to sheriff’s deputies.

The investigation shut down the highway onramp, which was not expected to open until noon.
