Death Toll Climbs To 5 After SUV Crash In Waterway Near Stockton

STOCKTON (CBS/AP) -- Authorities have pulled two more bodies from a Northern California waterway where an SUV crashed, bringing the number of deaths from the weekend wreck to five.

The men's bodies were found Wednesday in a waterway west of Stockton. They haven't been identified.

Authorities have now recovered a total of five bodies from the slough after the crash. It wasn't immediately clear if they're looking for more.

The three other victims were identified as 28-year-old Rafael Ontiveros of Redwood City; 40-year-old Adrian Pena of Santa Rosa; and Luis Cuevas, whose age and hometown weren't immediately available.

The 2002 Chevrolet SUV went off the roadway, down a levee and into the waterway early Sunday. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The California Highway Patrol has said no one was inside the SUV when it was pulled from the water.
