Vallejo Man Arrested For Pimping Woman Met On Social Media

SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) - Santa Rosa police arrested a Vallejo man Thursday on suspicion of pimping a woman he recently met on a social media site, a police sergeant said.

Adrian Nicholas, 21, and the woman initially discussed establishing a romantic relationship when they corresponded on the social media site three weeks ago, Sgt. Eric Litchfield said.

A few days later, Nicholas told the woman she could make "easy money" working for him as a prostitute and she began working for him at hotels in Vallejo and Santa Rosa, Litchfield said.

A police officer who made a security check at a Santa Rosa hotel around 10:45 a.m. Thursday became suspicious that one of the female guests at the hotel was working as a prostitute, Litchfield said.

When a woman and Nicholas came out of the hotel room and left in a vehicle, the officer stopped the car for a vehicle code violation, Litchfield said.

The officer learned Nicholas, the driver, was on parole in Solano County for robbery, and the officer also found evidence of prostitution and pimping in the vehicle, Litchfield said.

Nicholas was arrested on suspicion of pimping and violating his parole. He was booked into Sonoma County Jail on $200,000 bail.

The woman was given information about services offered by the Sonoma County Human Trafficking Task Force and the county's Family Justice Center, police said.
