4.1 Earthquake Shakes Imperial County
BRAWLEY, Imperial County (CBS/AP) -- A magnitude-4.1 earthquake near the southeastern end of the Salton Sea has rattled part of Imperial County.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the 12:04 p.m. Monday quake was centered five miles west of the community of Niland, or about 18 miles northwest of the city of Brawley.
The region in the southeast corner of the state is largely agricultural.
