2-Alarm Fire Burns Vacant Oakland Building

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Oakland firefighters controlled a two-alarm blaze at a Victorian house near Seventh and Harrison streets, a fire dispatcher said.

The fire, which was highly visible from nearby Interstate Highway 880, burned at 621 Harrison St., the dispatcher said.

The three-story house, which was vacant, was the site of another two-alarm fire in January. A fire official said squatters have been known to frequent the building.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
