Man Jumps In Water With Sea Lions At San Francisco's Pier 39

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Fire crews rescued a man at San Francisco's Pier 39 Thursday after he jumped into the water near the tourist attraction's famous sea lions.

The fire department received word that the man was in the water at 3:08 p.m., a department employee said. He was out of the water by 3:20 p.m.

Pier 39 spokeswomen Sue Muzzin said the 22-year-old man was watching the sea lions when he suddenly jumped in.

Alarmed observers called for help, she said.

He was rescued from the water and appeared to be unharmed, Muzzin said. She said the sea lions are also doing fine.
