2-Alarm Fire In Oakland Causes Roof Collapse, Threatens Other Buildings

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Oakland fire officials were struggling to prevent a two-alarm fire on the 2500 block of 73rd Avenue near Bancroft from spreading Saturday afternoon.

Fire officials have reported on Twitter that they are battling multiple fires in high winds, including a newly reported attic fire on the 2500 block of 74th Avenue.

The fire reportedly caused a roof collapse in a commercial building, forcing firefighters into a defensive exterior attack, fire officials said.
