Novato Bicyclist Seriously Injured In Crash

NOVATO (CBS SF) -- A Novato bicyclist was airlifted to Stanford Hospital this morning with major injuries she sustained when she was struck by a car, Novato police reported Saturday.

Police say the 21-year-old resident was found lying in the roadway at the intersection of Delong Avenue and Redwood Boulevard in downtown Novato. She was suffering from serious injuries and was rushed by ambulance to Marin General Hospital and then flown to Stanford Hospital for further treatment, according to police.

The driver of the car remained on scene and cooperated with investigators. Police said there were no signs of impairment.
