2-Alarm Fire Damages Apartment Building In SF Tenderloin

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- San Francisco firefighters quickly controlled a fire on a Tenderloin apartment building's roof deck early Tuesday evening.

The fire was reported at 5:14 p.m. at 519 Ellis St., near Leavenworth Street.

After arriving and seeing heavy smoke coming from the roof, firefighters quickly called a second alarm response.

However, once firefighters got to the roof and put water on the fire, it was quickly extinguished.

The fire was declared under control about 5:30 p.m., fire officials said.

No one was injured.
