Woman Arrested On DUI Charge After Crashing Into Santa Rosa House

SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- Police arrested a woman on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol after she allegedly crashed a car into a residence in Santa Rosa on Thursday night.

Santa Rosa resident Angela Marie Angerman, 33, also known as Angela Paetz, was released from jail at about 1 p.m. Thursday, police said.

Angerman is on felony probation for a theft offense and her probation conditions prohibit her from consuming alcohol, according to police.

But at about 9:50 p.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle that had collided into the side of a residence in the 1600 block of Keoke Court in northern Santa Rosa, police said.

According to a preliminary investigation, Angerman attempted to back a silver 1998 Ford Mustang out of a residential driveway on Keoke Court, but collided into the side of a vehicle parked on the street.

She then accelerated forward and sideswiped a tree in the front lawn of the residence before striking the east wall of the same home with the vehicle, police said.

The residence was unoccupied at the time of the collision and no injuries were reported. The collision caused significant damage to the residence, police said.

Officers searched for the Ford Mustang following the collision and found it parked nearby on State Farm Drive.

Police said the Mustang had flat tires and damage consistent with the collision and spotted Angerman as she was walking away from the unoccupied vehicle.

Officers determined that Angerman was intoxicated and arrested her on suspicion of DUI and for violation of her probation, police said.

Her blood alcohol content was allegedly more than twice the legal limit, according to police.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has additional information about the case is encouraged to contact police at (707) 543-3636.
