Alec Baldwin Launches Twitter Tirade Against Reporter
(CBS NEWS) – Alec Baldwin wasn’t too happy about a Daily Mail report that accused his wife of tweeting during actor James Gandolfini’s funeral on Thursday — so much so that he launched a Twitter tirade against the journalist who wrote it.
“It may not be considered funeral etiquette, but Alec Baldwin and his heavily pregnant wife, Hilaria, took to Twitter during James Gandolfini’s service today,” George Stark wrote in the story. “The pregnant yoga instructor’s social media feed was full of upbeat posts while the ‘Sopranos’ star’s friends, family and co-stars were gripped with grief at a New York Catholic church. Messages included a request for ideas about wedding anniversary presents and promotional notes about her upcoming appearance on the ‘Rachael Ray’ show.”
Baldwin fired back with a series of expletive-filled messages on his own Twitter account.
“My wife and I attend a funeral to pay our respects to an old friend, and some toxic Brit writes this [expletive] trash,” one of the tweets said.
Another said, “I’m gonna find you, George Stark, you toxic little queen, and I’m gonna [expletive]…you…up.”
“How much of this [expletive] are people supposed to take? With these blatant [expletive] lies EVERY DAY,” he continued, adding, “My wife DID NOT use her phone, in any capacity, at our friend’s funeral. Now, [expletive] this Twitter + good luck to all of you who know the truth.”
In the midst of the rant, the actor also tweeted that he has fired his publicist.
Baldwin’s account was later taken down, but a screenshot of the messages can be seen here.
