OAKLAND (CBS SF/LIVE 105) – Earlier this year rock royalty Metallica teamed up with the San Francisco Giants for a Metallica themed night at the ballpark. Not to be out done the Oakland A’s have enlisted Bay Area natives Green Day for their own rock and roll night just across the Bay at the O.co Coliseum.
Green Day night at the Tampa Bay Rays versus the Oakland A’s is on Saturday, August 31 includes appearance by members of Green Day throwing out the first pitch and a post-game fireworks display “set to Green Day’s more than two decades worth of music.”
Special field level ticket package includes an exclusive co-branded Green Day and Oakland A’s cap with a portion of the proceeds benefit Oakland Children’s Hospital. Not too shabby for the $38 ticket price. Get you tickets (while they last) on the Oakland A’s website.
After the game the band will head to England to headline the historic Reading Festival along with Eminem, Nine Inch Nails, Skrillex, Phoenix and more.
