Alice@97.3’s Marcus D’s Daily Bite:
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF/ALICE@97.3) – I had a chance to sit down with celebrity chef, Marcus Samuelsson from the Food Network (Chopped, Top Chef Masters, Iron Chef) and just talk food. Yes, we geeked out hardcore. Plus he has the coolest first name EVER…
Marcus Sameulsson is an world-renowned chef with an amazing story. Orphaned in Ethiopia then adopted and raised in Sweden, he doesn’t end up realizing his dream of becoming a champion soccer player and instead, settles for being one of the most accomplished chefs of our generation.
You can read the very inspiring story in his New York Times best-selling autobiography (that just went to paperback) “Yes Chef” available here.
In addition to talking about his life journey and tips he has for young chefs, we talk about his love for the food scene in the Bay Area, his favorite restaurants and whether Oakland or SF has better grub! Enjoy!
