Morgan Hill YMCA Worker Charged With Sex Crimes Against 2 Children

MORGAN HILL (CBS SF) -- Morgan Hill police are investigating photos of children found on the cellphone of a former YMCA childcare aide charged Wednesday in connection with sex crimes related to two children, a police spokesman said.

Police recovered pictures of several children from the phone owned by Nicolas Lhermine, who was arrested Friday after a 6-year-old girl alleged he forced her to commit a sex act, police spokesman Capt. Shane Palsgrove said.

Police are seeking to identify the children to interview them to further a continuing investigation of Lhermine, Palsgrove said.

Many of the pictures Lhermine took and stored that police are examining, both on his phone and his computer, are not relevant to the inquiry, Palsgrove said.

"We're going through a lot of photos," Palsgrove said.

The incident last Friday allegedly happened as Lhermine supervised the girl while working as a YMCA child care provider inside a portable classroom at Paradise Valley Elementary School in Morgan Hill, Palsgrove said.

Officers also arrested him after finding pornographic photos of a teenager, Palsgrove said.

None of the new photos screened so far qualify as child pornography, Palsgrove said.

Lhermine, of Morgan Hill, was arraigned Wednesday at the Santa Clara County Superior Court in Morgan Hill on charges of sexual acts with a child under 10 and possessing child pornography, Deputy District Attorney Stacey Capps said.

He is being held without bail and will make his next appearance in court in Morgan Hill next Tuesday, Capps said.
