Man's Body Found Floating In Concord Lake

CONCORD (CBS SF) - A man was found dead in Concord's Ellis Lake Friday afternoon, a police lieutenant said.

A body in the water was reported at 4:21 p.m. and police found the man face-down in the water, Lt. Rob Zywicki said.

The body was removed from the water with the assistance of firefighters, and police tentatively have identified him as a Concord resident.

Police suspect the death was an accident and that the man either jumped or fell into the water and struck his head, Zywicki said.

Anyone with information about the case has been asked to call Concord police at (925) 671-3030.
