Stolen Golden Gate Transit Bus Found In Santa Rosa

NOVATO (KCBS)— A Golden Gate Transit bus has been found in Sonoma County Tuesday evening, after it was stolen from a facility in Novato.

According to Golden Gate Bridge District spokesperson Mary Currie, the bus went missing around 3:50 p.m. There were no passengers on board when the bus was stolen.

"There were just two buses on the lot at our Novato facility," Currie said. "We have a facility in San Rafael, Novato, and Santa Rosa. Our Novato facility is very small."

The bus was eventually recovered a short time later by Santa Rosa police and a suspect was taken into custody. Novato Police coordinated with other departments in tracking the coach.

The transit coach's number is 1523.
