92-Year-Old Mistakes Gas For Brake, Turns Campbell Salon Into Drive-In

CAMPBELL (CBS SF) - An elderly woman drove her car into a salon storefront Thursday morning in Campbell but neither she nor the customers inside were injured, a police captain said.

Officers responded to a report of a car driving into the front of the Top Cuts Plus salon at 2365 Winchester Blvd. at about 9:20 a.m., Capt. Charley Adams said.

Adams said a 92-year-old woman mistakenly hit the gas to her car when she thought she was hitting the brake, throwing her car into the salon's glass doors.

A handful of people were inside the salon, but were uninjured, he said.

The elderly woman driver was also uninjured, and eventually drove her car home, Adams said.

Adams said the woman was not impaired. She was not cited, but will be responsible to pay for the repair costs, he said.

The salon remained open, and customers used a back door to enter.
