Oakland Man Arrested In SF Bayview Shooting

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- An Oakland man was arrested in connection with a shooting in San Francisco's Bayview District on Wednesday afternoon, police said Thursday.

The shooting, reported at 4:11 p.m. in the area of Revere Avenue and Jennings Street, sent a 46-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Javon Coggins, 38, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and being a felon in possession of a firearm, San Francisco police spokesman Officer Gordon Shyy said.

Coggins was found in the Mission District in a pickup truck with a 34-year-old man and a 47-year-old man after the shooting, Shyy said.

All three were detained and taken to the Bayview police station, and the other two were later released, Shyy said.
