San Leandro Library Offers Workspace To Commuters Stranded By BART Strike

SAN LEANDRO (CBS SF) -- In the event of a BART strike Monday, the San Leandro Public Library will offer an area with free Internet for stranded commuters to work.

The workspace in the library's Karp Room will be available Monday and Tuesday between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., city officials announced.

The library is located at 300 Estudillo Ave.

There will also be areas where commuters can plug in laptops or other electronic devices.

A 30-day contract extension between BART management and two BART employee unions -- Service Employees International Union Local 1021 and Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1555 -- expires Sunday night.
