2.9 Magnitude Earthquake Reported East Of San Jose

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A 2.9-magnitude earthquake struck the region near Alum Rock Park in Santa Clara County on Monday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The temblor occurred at 4:23 p.m. about 11 miles east of San Jose.

The earthquake had a depth of about 4.6 miles, according to the USGS.
