1 Killed, 2 Injured In East Oakland Shooting Saturday Night

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- A female is dead and two others were injured during a shooting Saturday night in East Oakland, a police officer said.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 7200 block of MacArthur Boulevard at about 9:40 p.m., Officer Kevin McDonald said.

When they arrived, they found a male and female suffering from gunshot wounds, McDonald said.

The female was pronounced dead. The male was transported to a hospital and is expected to survive, he said.

A 4-year-old was believed to have been struck with gunfire in the shooting, but was later determined that the young child was struck with glass debris, McDonald said.

The injuries to the child were minor, he said.

No suspect information was immediately available. The shooting remains under investigation.
