Tech Report: Tech Savvy Teens Adept At Privacy Settings

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) — New research that suggests teenagers are actually more adept than parents might realize when it comes to managing the information they share online.

The study finds that the majority of teens do have a clue when it comes to privacy and they also actually know how to set the privacy settings on Facebook and other social networking sites.

Another interesting thing is that about 70 percent of them have reached out for advice on how to manage their online privacy to their parents. Most go to a peer (as you'd expect) but parents rank second. That's an important statistic for parents to learn that their kids do turn to them about safety and privacy.

Don't feel that just because they may be a little more tech savvy then you that you still don't have advice to give them.
