Teen Killed In East Palo Alto Shooting

PALO ALTO (CBS SF) -- A 19-year-old man succumbed to his injuries after he was shot while in a vehicle in East Palo Alto late Tuesday night, police said.

About 10:10 p.m., officers were alerted to shots fired in the 2500 block of Emmett Way, about a block from University Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers located a 19-year-old man slumped over with at least one gunshot wound in the driver seat of a parked vehicle, police said.

The Menlo Park Fire District arrived on scene and rendered aid to the man. He was transported to a local hospital, but succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital, police said.

Police were continuing to investigate the incident and were asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has any information to contact Det. The victim's name had not been released pending notification of his next of kin.
