Stranded Fishing Boat Towed From Gualala To Bodega Bay

GUALALA (CBS SF) — A stranded commercial fishing boat was towed into Bodega Bay Friday afternoon after it became disabled near the northern edge of the Sonoma County coast, a U.S. Coast Guard official said.

The 85-foot fishing boat “Emerald Sea” was reported disabled and adrift about 7 miles offshore from Gualala Point on Thursday, Coast Guard search and rescue controller Danielle Couture said.

The boat had been heading from Stockton to the Oregon area, she
said.

A Coast Guard vessel responded and started the long process of
towing the boat to Bodega Bay , which was the nearest place to take the boat.

It was moored into the bay around 5 p.m. Friday, she said.

There were two crew members aboard the adrift fishing boat, she
said.
