(CBS NEWS) – It’s on your marks, get set, go for another season of “The Amazing Race.”
The CBS competition series is back for its 23rd installment, with 11 new teams embarking on a race around the world for a chance at winning $1 million.
This season will follow teams through four continents and nine countries, spanning more than 35,000 miles. They’ll paraglide above the skies of Iquique, Chile, subject themselves to a bone-chilling plunge in Norway and buckle up for Formula One Racing in Abu Dhabi.
“The Amazing Race” is also bringing back last season’s Double Express Pass twist. Whichever team wins the first leg of the race will receive two Express Passes — one to keep, and one they must give to another team by the fifth leg of the race.
This season features beard lovers and childhood friends Brandon Squyres and Adam Switzer of Chico, California. 34 year old Brandon is a contractor who toured the U.S. and Europe with his bands Cold Blue Mountain, Amarok, and The Makai. His only pet-peeve about his teammate, Adam is that he grows a better moustache than he does.
Adam, on the other hand, is also 34 years old and is a U.S.F.S. seasonal wildlife firefighter currently working fulltime on a 22 acre farm in the woods that he owns. Both teammates love to have fun and would love the whole world see them in action.
The new season of “The Amazing Race” premieres Sunday, September 29, at 8:00pm on KPIX 5 / CBS.
