2 Found Murdered In Pinole Home; Relative Arrested
PINOLE (CBS SF) - A man and woman were found dead inside their Pinole home early Friday morning and a relative also living in the home has been arrested on suspicion of murder, a police commander said.
Police said officers were dispatched around 2:30 a.m. on reports of an unspecified problem at a home in the 1100 block of Tara Hills Drive.
Officers arrived at the two-story home and spoke to a resident who said there might be injured people inside, police said.
Police then located a man and a woman who were dead and appeared to have been killed.
The victims are in their 50s or older and have not yet been identified, Pinole police Cmdr. Neil Gang said.
Gang said officers arrested a 25-year-old man at the home who is related to the two victims.
Detectives were interviewing the man and had not yet booked him into jail, he said.
Gang said a woman who is believed to be the suspect's sister was also at the home when officers arrived on the scene, along with three children under 10 years old.
Police served a search warrant at the home later Friday morning and were collecting evidence a short time after noon.
Gang said he could not confirm how the suspect and victims were related and said the suspect's name would not be released until he is booked into jail.
He said the killings are believed to be an isolated incident and added that the man arrested is the only suspect in the case.
The killings are Pinole's first homicides this year and are believed to be the first murders in the city since 2011, Gang said.
