At Least 4 Injured When Muni Bus Suddenly Stops To Avoid Car

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- At least four people were injured Monday afternoon when a San Francisco Municipal Railway bus driver stopped suddenly to avoid hitting a car that made a U-turn in front of the bus, Muni and fire officials said.

The incident was reported at 2:46 p.m. at Harrison and Essex streets, fire spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said.

The 108-Treasure Island bus did not hit the car that had turned in front of it, but the sudden stop caused injuries to at least four people onboard, Muni spokesman Paul Rose said.

The injuries were all considered minor, including complaints of back pain and facial bruising, Talmadge said.
