Severed Foot Inside Running Shoe Washes Up On San Francisco Beach
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS/AP) -- An old running shoe has been found on San Francisco's Ocean Beach with a severed human foot inside.
The National Park Service beach patrol found the foot inside the size 11 ½ green-and-black Puma sneaker that had apparently washed up Sunday morning at Ocean Beach.
There was no sign of the rest of the body, and it's not clear what happened to the person whose foot it was, though it likely didn't happen very recently.
Coroner's investigator Mark Powning said the foot and some "associated tissue" in the shoe was "probably rolling around the seabed for a while."
