Manhunt For Driver Who Struck, Killed Pedestrian In East Oakland

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- A pedestrian was killed when a car hit him Friday evening in East Oakland and police are still searching for the driver who fled, an officer said.

Officers responded to the crash in the 2200 block of International Boulevard at about 7:50 p.m., Officer R. Bowden said.

When they arrived, they transported a male who was struck by a car as he was pushing another car, Bowden said.

The pedestrian, whose name has not yet been released, was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Bowden said the suspect fled the area and remains at large Saturday morning.
