Teen Boy Shot In Face During East Palo Alto Robbery

EAST PALO ALTO (CBS SF) -- A 16-year-old boy was shot in the face with a pellet gun during an armed robbery in East Palo Alto on Monday night, according to police.

About 9:15 p.m. on Monday, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Manhattan and Woodland avenues on a report of a shooting, police said.

Upon arrival at the scene, police located a 16-year-old East Palo Alto resident, suffering from a gunshot wound under his right eye.

Upon further investigation, officers discovered that the victim had been shot with a pellet gun during a robbery.

According to police, two suspects in a dark colored vehicle approached the victim.

One of the suspects exited the vehicle, approached the victim, and demanded his money, police said.

The suspect then fired one shot at the victim's face with a pellet gun, according to police.

Menlo Park fire officials arrived on scene and rendered emergency aid to the boy.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for further medical treatment, police said.
