SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — A third family member has died as a result of a two-alarm fire at a home in San Francisco’s Inner Parkside neighborhood early Friday morning, a fire department spokeswoman said.

The blaze was reported around 1:30 a.m. at 1986 18th Ave. and initially killed 1-year-old Chloe Tse and her 33-year-old father Raymond Tse.

The toddler’s grandfather, who was critically injured in the fire, succumbed to his injuries later in the day, fire spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said.

His name was not immediately being released by the medical examiner’s office.

Firefighters responding to the home initially found Raymond Tse downstairs in full cardiac arrest. Crews went upstairs and found Chloe in a bathroom, Talmadge said.

Along with the girl’s grandfather, her mother was also hospitalized with moderate smoke inhalation, according to Talmadge.

Firefighters eventually extinguished the blaze at 2:01 a.m., she said.

Investigators said the fire was accidental in nature and may have been caused by an electrical problem or smoking materials, although the exact cause has yet to be determined, Talmadge said.

She said the fire caused an estimated $225,000 in damage to the structure of the house and $75,000 to the property inside.
