SAN LEANDRO (CBS SF) — Police arrested a 20-year-old burglary suspect in a stolen vehicle in San Leandro on Wednesday, police said.

Maji Mosley, of unincorporated San Leandro, was arrested in connection with a residential burglary that occurred in the 1900 block of Dayton Avenue near Stenzel Park, police said.

At about 11:26 a.m. on Wednesday, a resident heard a loud noise followed by an alarm. The resident suspected that someone had broken into a neighbor’s residence and reported the suspicious activity to police.

The citizen saw two burglars leaving the area and provided officers with a detailed description of the suspects and their getaway vehicle.

Officers located the suspect vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the suspects lead the police on a brief pursuit. The officers were eventually able to capture one of the suspects, however the second suspect evaded police.

According to police, the suspects broke a rear door to gain entry to the victim’s residence.

The suspect vehicle was recovered and determined to have been stolen in San Francisco on Sept. 18, police said.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact police at (510) 577-3230 or may do so anonymously at (510) 577-3278.

Additionally, citizens can send an anonymous tip to the San Leandro Police Department by texting the word “SLPD” and their tip to 847411.
