Sharks’ Opening Roster Features 3 Rookie Forwards

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) — Led by 19-year-old Tomas Hertl, three rookie forwards will be on the San Jose Sharks’ opening-night roster, the team has announced.

Hertl, who was the team’s first-round pick in 2012, along with 20-year-old Matt Nieto and 21-year-old Freddie Hamilton, all made the squad.

Meanwhile, goalie Alex Stalock won a roster spot and will back up Antti Niemi.

The Sharks will open their NHL season on Thursday night when they host the Vancouver Canucks.
