(CBS NEWS) – Customers at a New York City coffee shop got a jolt recently that had nothing to do with their morning latte.

A marketing stunt promoting the upcoming horror remake “Carrie” freaked out some unsuspecting New Yorkers and the resulting video has racked up more than 7 million views on San Bruno-based YouTube as of Tuesday afternoon.

A fake wall, remote-controlled tables and chairs and spring-loaded bookshelves are used to make it look as if a woman is using telekinesis after someone knocks over her coffee. Hidden cameras capture the reactions of everyone around her.


“Carrie,” starring Chloe Grace Moretz and Julianne Moore, arrives in theaters on Oct. 18.
