OAKLAND (KCBS) – The Oakland Raiders and quarterback Terrelle Pryor meet the undefeated Chiefs in Kansas City Sunday.
“Pryor is always a threat. He’s making some big throws, and I think that gives them a chance,” John Madden told the KCBS Radio morning crew. “I think everyone around him has fed off (Pryor). Their defense is better. I think they weeded out some bad guys, and they have all good guys now that play hard, try hard.”
KC fans will be attempting to break the record for the loudest sports stadium.
“It’s going to be tough in Kansas City,” John said.
The New York Giants are a surprising 0-6 after losing to the Chicago Bears 27-21 Thursday night.
“The strength of the Giants was always their offensive and defensive line and their pass rush… and getting turnovers. And they’re not doing that. So then you put more pressure on (quarterback Eli Manning.) Then he has to do more things. And you can just see that in trying to do that, he’s throwing more interceptions and turnovers and all that stuff. There are two teams that haven’t won a game that you believe can’t be that bad. And the Giants are one of them and the Steelers are the other one.”
The A’s lost another fifth and deciding game Thursday night in their divisional series with the Detroit Tigers.
“They got to the playoffs, and there are a lot of teams that were sitting home watching,” John said. “So you have to give them credit for that.”
Detroit ace Justin Verlander gave up two hits in shutting out the A’s in his eight innings.
“(The A’s) had a heck of a year. And then it got down to the final game and they run into him and they lose. But probably everyone else if they ran into the Tigers last night would have lost.” (7:00)
