1 Person Killed In Solo-Vehicle Crash Near Byron Airport

BYRON (CBS SF) — A person has died in a car crash in Contra Costa County near the Byron Airport early Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported at about 12:05 a.m. on Byron Highway, just east of Holey Road, in Byron, the CHP said.

A black SUV reportedly overturned several times before coming to a rest dozens of feet off the roadway, according to the CHP.

At least one person has died in the crash, the CHP said.

Byron Highway was closed as crews investigated and cleared the crash. It reopened around 2:50 a.m., the CHP said.
