2 Arrested In Walnut Creek With Stolen Mail, Other Items

WALNUT CREEK (CBS SF) -- Walnut Creek police arrested an Alameda man and San Leandro woman on Sunday morning after they were found with stolen items including mail taken from homes, police said.

Officers responded to a report of a car alarm sounding and a suspicious vehicle spotted in the area of Camino Verde and Quail View Circle at about 7:35 a.m., police said.

When officers arrived, they found that a car had been burglarized, according to police.

During the investigation, the reporting party, who was still at the scene, pointed out another suspicious car that appeared to be circling the area, police said.

Officers stopped the car and found property taken in two different auto burglaries and a large quantity of stolen mail, police said.

Postal inspectors retrieved the stolen mail, which had been taken from roughly 20 homes.

The suspects, David Anderson, 44, and Jaime Davies, 20, were arrested and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for possession of stolen property and burglary tools, criminal conspiracy and violation of probation.
