2-Alarm Fire Damages Two Oakland Homes

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Fire officials were investigating a blaze that damaged two homes in Oakland Sunday morning, a fire department dispatcher said.

Crews responded to a report of a fire at a residence in the 1700 block of 11th Street at 6:20 a.m., according to the Oakland Fire Department.

Arriving firefighters reported flames coming out of the roof of the abandoned one-story building, according to officials. A second alarm was called shortly after.

Flames spread to a neighboring structure before the fire was contained at about 7 a.m., the dispatcher said.

There were no injuries, though a family in the second damaged structure have been displaced, the dispatcher said.
