MENLO PARK (KCBS) — A car struck and severely injured a bicyclist in Menlo Park on Monday morning, authorities said.

Police told KCBS that the collision happened at Bayfront Expressway and Marsh Road—near the entrance to the Dumbarton Bridge—at 8:20 a.m.

The cyclist was taken to Stanford Hospital while the driver of the car stayed on scene.

Authorities have yet to release further details about the collision.

The Marsh Expressway and Bayfront Road intersection has become an increasingly popular one for cyclists heading to the Dumbarton Bridge.
