Hayward Teen Fatally Shot Near Baseball Diamond In City Park

HAYWARD (CBS SF) -- A teen died after being shot near the baseball diamond of Hayward's Centennial Park Monday afternoon, police said.

The 17-year-old was found around 3:30 p.m. in the park at 24000 Amador St. suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.

He was taken to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries at 4:10 p.m. Police have identified him as a Hayward resident but have not released his name.
