Oakland Teen Accused Of Robbing 11-Year-Old With Pellet Gun

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- A 14-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with armed robbery for allegedly using a pellet gun to steal $5 from an 11-year-old boy in Oakland on Nov. 1, police said Tuesday.

The 11-year-old boy was walking to school in the 2500 block of 19th Avenue around 7:20 a.m. on Nov. 1 when the 14-year-old allegedly approached him, according to Oakland police.

The 14-year-old demanded the 11-year-old's cellphone but instead took money from the younger boy, police said.

The 14-year-old surrendered to Oakland police on Saturday.

Authorities didn't release his name because he's a juvenile.
